What does the Policy Cover?

Provides indemnity against claims arising out of bodily injury/death or legal suits of any patient caused by or alleged to have been caused by error, omission, or negligence in professional service for Doctors and Medical Practitioners Liability for another act. A doctor is responsible for not only his negligence but also for the negligence of his employees, if such an act occurs under his direct supervision, by the principle of Respondent Superior. The Insured includes the Policy Holder and his Qualified Assistants or employees named in the Proposal. The Act must be committed during the period of insurance commencing from the Retroactive Date.

What is professional negligence?

Absence of reasonable care or skill or willful negligence on the part of the medical practitioner in the treatment of the patient whereby the health or life of the patient is endangered.

What is PI for doctor’s Indemnity Insurance?

Doctors’ Professional Indemnity is an insurance cover specially designed for the professionals to cover them against the liabilities arising out of any error or omissions committed while rendering services to their respective clients.

LIMIT OF INDEMNITY

Irrespective of the number of persons or entities named as Insured in the Schedule or added by endorsement, the total liability of the Company hereunder for damages inclusive of defense costs (as hereinafter defined) shall not exceed the limit of indemnity set out in the Schedule for Any One Act (AOA) in respect of any or all claims made against the Insured arising out of Any One-Act. The indemnity limit for Any One Year as set out in the schedule shall represent the aggregate amount of the Company’s liability during the policy period, arising out of all Acts.
